Our Team

The Connected Innovation Programme is led by New Anglia LEP, reporting into the New Anglia Innovation Board. Our team have extensive experience working with Norfolk and Suffolk businesses and an unrivalled knowledge of the region’s sectoral and investment opportunities. By forging strong relationships between hubs, clusters, and business support partners (including access to finance and investment), they have helped to shape the innovation landscape in East Anglia.

Julian Munson

Head of Enterprise Zones & Innovation, Suffolk County Council

Julian chairs the quarterly meetings of the Connected Innovation Network. He works closely with the New Anglia Innovation Board and Industry Councils across Norfolk and Suffolk to support the development of strategies and initiatives driving innovation and supporting growth in key sectors. He is responsible for Enterprise Zone sites in Suffolk encouraging new investment and commercial development.

Katie Snell

Innovation Clusters Lead

Katie leads on the cluster activity within the Connected Innovation Programme, supporting with the development of and implementation of the region’s sectoral activity. Katie works closely with sector groups, Industry Councils (Agri-Food, Digital Tech and Energy) and cluster groups, such as Space East, Marine Science Technology Sector Council, East Wind and Hydrogen East. Katie is also supporting projects such as the Future FinTech work and the Norfolk Film Office.

James Allen

Connected Innovation Project Manager

James is the Project Manager for the Connected Innovation Programme. He is responsible for strategic activity on innovation, leading on the Regional Innovation Action Plan with Innovate UK. He is Project Manager for the Creative East scale-up and investment readiness programme and manages the relationship with the New Anglia Innovation Board, Agri-Food Industry Council and Council for Digital Tech. James engages with key Government Departments, UKRI, Innovate UK and the Catapults to deliver our innovation ambitions, leading various bids to support the Agri-Tech sector, to establish the Space East Cluster (UK Space Agency funding) and to deliver Creative East (DCMS’ Create Growth Programme).

Scott Cogman

Innovation Hubs Lead

Scott leads on the Innovation Hubs network within the Connected Innovation Programme, establishing strategic relationships between the hubs, research institutes and academia and facilitating key conversations around issues such as grow-on space and connecting partners with local innovation support. Scott regularly attends UK Science Parks Association meetings to strengthen connectivity with innovation hubs and clusters around the UK. Scott supports with the coordination of the New Anglia Innovation Board and Council for Digital Tech.
