Latest updates and opportunities from the Connected Innovation team
The month of April has been another whirlwind of activity promoting innovation across Norfolk and Suffolk! We’ve been busy on several fronts:
- Supporting Events: We sponsored and exhibited at the Haverhill Science Festival at the EpiCentre with our cluster partners, Space East. Presented local grant, loan and innovation funding options at the CEO and Founders event in Norwich. Rounding off the month by attending the Freeport East Innovation Cluster session at the University of Suffolk in Ipswich.
- Showcasing Regional Innovation: We sponsored the Marine Science and Technology Sector Council’s “Energising the East” event, which included hosting the Up-and-Coming Technology and Innovation panel. In addition, we have supported the launch of the Fintech Cluster report for Norfolk, having help curate and drive the report’s creation over the last 6 months.
- Connecting and developing our regional networks: As the network moves into its fourth year, we are looking to bring together a peer network of our Innovation Cluster leads like we have with the Innovation Hubs and Finance Leads. This will allow us to drive greater connectivity across the entire programme increase regional awareness of networks and support regional bids into government initiatives.
Looking Ahead to May
May promises to be just as exciting, with a particular focus on the gaming sector:
- Driving Local Clusters: We’re supporting ten local gaming companies to attend Barclays Game Frenzy in London – providing a chance to promote themselves and demonstrate how Norfolk and Suffolk supports the regional gaming community.
- Connecting Educators: We’re sponsoring the latest Games East event, bringing together educators from the region to help shape this emerging cluster to ensure it has the necessary skills and resources to grow into the future.
Funding Opportunities
