The Future Tech Programme

Supporting early-stage tech founders

Our Future Tech Programme supports underserved early-stage tech founders with critical early-stage incubation support and advice to take the founders to MVP (Minimum Viable Product) stage and link them with investors to take their businesses to the next level.

To date, +£2.5m has been raised in investment from cohort members, with £500,000+ grants secured and increasing returns in commercial deals. This has delivered a +10x return on public investment.

Connected Innovation together with Suffolk County Council and Norfolk County Council led a successful bid to secure funding for ‘The Future Tech Programme’ from Barclays Eagle Labs’ Ecosystem Partnership Programme for 2024/25, with delivery partners Akcela Ventures (Norfolk) and Innovation Labs Group (Suffolk). This funding has been continued for during 2025/26 and 2026/27.

Based on the successes we have seen in 2024/25 and 2025/26, Connected Innovation together with Norfolk County Council and have agreed to continue funding this vital support programme for early-stage tech founders in 2026/27.

Akcela Ventures is supporting the Norwich/Norfolk tech ecosystem through scaling their current services and providing more support to a greater number and range of businesses, investors and entrepreneurs.

This includes a dedicated startup portal collating support opportunities available regionally and nationally.
