Connected Innovation at ClimbUK25: Showcasing regional ecosystems and driving connectivity

ClimbUK25 proved to be a dynamic and insightful event, bringing together leaders, innovators, investors and ecosystems from across the UK to explore the future of business growth as well as funding and scaling innovation. The Connected Innovation team attended to actively represent our innovation ecosystem, showcasing the strength and potential of our regional capabilities on a national stage.

Throughout the event, the team engaged with a wide range of stakeholders, from national innovation support programmes to private investors. Gathering valuable insights into what drives investment decisions and how regions can better position themselves to attract funding and support. These conversations have highlighted the importance of aligning our local innovation strategies with broader national priorities, ensuring that regional ecosystems are not only visible but also vital contributors to the UK’s innovation landscape.

A key theme throughout ClimbUK25 was the opportunity for regions to take greater control over their innovation agendas and what this has delivered so far in the Northern devolved / Mayoral regions, in particular. These insights are particularly timely in our region as we look to strengthen our local innovation infrastructure, innovation support models and build deeper connections with national programmes.

The event has also served as a platform to promote the unique strengths of our innovation ecosystem, highlighting the collaborative opportunities, entrepreneurial talent, and sectoral expertise that make our region an attractive place for innovation-led growth.
